Executive Coaching

The goal of Executive Coaching is to develop an individual's competencies and increase their ability to improve bottom-line results. Executive Coaching takes place within a triangular relationship between the client, the individual being coached (the "coachee"), and the executive coach. The purpose is to produce behavioral change and growth in the individual for the mutual benefit of all parties involved in the process.

JDA provides Executive Coaching at all levels within an organization. We help individuals become aware of their own strengths and weaknesses—awareness is the first step in the process of effecting change in behavior, style, mindset or commitment. We then target specific areas to develop that leverage existing strengths and fill gaps in performance. In some cases we might work on interpersonal skills, or on navigating the challenges of organizational politics. In other cases, we provide the management or leadership skills needed for motivating employees.

Invariably, our approach is customized and shaped around each individual's needs.

JDA utilizes a three-step process:

  1. Assess the Individual
Using a variety of assessment tools, (ie. 360° interviews and feedback, the Social Styles Profile and the Harrison Assessment), we gauge the level of an individual's competency to create a development plan.
  2. Create the Developmental Plan
The coachee drafts a developmental plan that includes specific outcomes, target dates and action steps. If appropriate, the manager and/or HR contributes input and gives final approval.
  3. Conduct One-on-one Coaching Sessions
During the course of the engagement, the coachee will participate in a series of one-on-one coaching conversations with the coach. They will develop strategies and plans to improve performance and maintain focus on the developmental plan. Additionally, they will address issues and barriers that arise in the workplace and discuss ways to overcome these challenges.

Throughout the process our coaches provide the organization with objective feedback and honest impressions. Additionally, we monitor improvement by eliciting feedback from management, peers and direct reports.
